Angels in the world of essence

A brief look now at Angel race as a whole. They are beings that posses extraordinarily high levels of power. Their essence has been known too leak out of their vessels in the corporeal world having unintended consequences on those around them. A race of fire and light they are a magnificent but terrifying sight too behold. Old writings dating back too about the time of the first darkness speak of a great unnamed spell, Forged by a great god of crafting. A deity referenced numerous times as a Maker named Anvel. His spell was said too prevent the return of the old ones, it has also been linked to the disappearance or rather the hiding of the spirits. Mortal kind now unable too pierce a veil placed over its eyes senses and memory all but sending spirit kind too the realm of myth and legend.

Angels though not spirits are very similar and are believed too take advantage of this unknown spell, Though they are hidden not as completely as spirit kind, their presence is felt and remembered long after they depart. They are at times odd creatures. Known too have a reputation for righteousness and honour and a mind set of seeing only black and white in a world of murky grey. A stern warning too all would be adventures wishing too find these creatures.
An angel can only be seen in the corporeal world due too the material vessel it constructs. If for any reason it chooses too leave its physical form you will be in great danger. Too quote one Angel that allegedly addressed one such human hero of old "too the mortal of mud and clay. Look not, see not, for if you Gaze upon my true form, your eyes shall burn" It is apparent looking directly at their true ethereal form is potentially hazardous and ill-advised.

In reality there are several forms of Angel. Including but not limited too. The Angels of contemplation, Angels of the cosmos, and Guardian Angels. It is at times unclear which has the greater power. It would be more accurate too say that the each excel in certain areas. Where each groups talents and gifts are best suited.

It has been often remarked the striking difference in appearance each form of Angel has. The simplest explanation is that the inherent power these being posess can be trained and augmented. And depending on the Angel their appearance will alter depending on the power they hone.

The house of Angels.

Below is a short list. Of the types of Angels, their natural ethereal forms With out a physical body too inhabit, and their ranking in the Angelic Hierarchy. As we know it. Please note unlike the great Valkyrie of our beloved Astra not all these mystical beings follow the Lady of light. Though it is not know how many a great number follow another being. The creature calling its self a Maker sometimes called Anvel. Manny things we do not know about these Angels. What is know is recorded here in order of the top tier of the hierarchy too the lowest.

Note
The corporeal form of an Angel is always human with two wings. Why?. This is unknown. It is speculated that it maybe the most efficient body type available or that it makes them more likely too remain unnoticed in the physical world.

The Angels of contemplation.

Seraphim
Highest form an Angel can take. They are on the top of the Angelic Hierarchy. In their ethereal form they each posses six wings. Two to cover the face, two too cover the body,and one pair for flight. They are believed too have three heads one of a lion. Known for song and dance these Angels are very rarely seen in the earthly realm. Their standing and function in celestial society is unclear.

Cherubim
keepers of knowledge both divine and earthly. They each have two or four wings and posses four faces what this entails and why this is unknown. They are known to be extremely talkative amongst other Cherubim but less so among other Angel kind. They are said too congregate in and around places of learning such as libraries when in earth realm.

Thrones
Ponder the disposition of any divine law or decree and pass sentence upon the guilty. Either carrying the sentence out themselves or passing it along too subordinates. Known too be very humble creatures they resemble a white round orb or wheel. Possessing one or five eyes, they also posses the greatest sight out of all Angel types.

Angels of the cosmos

Dominions
They maintain clear lines of communication between each other. The rest of their brethren. And the between the spiritual and material world. They also regulate the duties of the angels below them in the hierarchy. They have been known too alter the form of their physical bodies earthy and ethereal. Each alteration is to the individual angels tastes. Thus no two Dominions look the same. Their physical appearance has changed so much so it is often difficult too tell if one is a Dominion. One common trait they all share is they all carry a large sceptre with a glowing orb radiating light.

Virtues
Are experts in the manipulation of energy. Such as but not limited too energy from. The Heavenly, the material and the cosmos. They are known too have spread essence too the world and mortal kind before the world was stable. They were once charged with bestowing heavenly miracles and holy blessings through out the physical world. They have often assisted hero's and those who strive for good and seek bravery in the face of evil. Their Ethereal appearance is that of a young late teen humanoid with one pair of white wings.

Powers
They are combat experts acting as enforcers of peace and order. Known too patrol the boundary's of the worlds they posses one pair of wings and simply retain a human form in their atherial selves. They wear a silver set of armour like a second skin almost never showing their natural self's too anyone.

Guardian Angels

Those on the final level of the hierarchy are simply know as Angels. Many are know as Guardian Angels. They are by far the most numerous of the species, opting too protect precious places or individuals in the physical world. Their true form radiates magnificent light. They are the most common of all the angels known too watch record and influence any world they visit.

A note on their weaponry.
It is unclear what material they use in constructing the various items armour and of Corse weapons of war from. Weather they be common earthly elements infused with their celestial might or unknown ore from a higher plain. What is known is that their blades burn like fire when they pierce flesh. Their armour will dispel several forms of magic. And many items in their possession are said too revitalise ones body and spirit.
